A new statistical model on the determinants of executive compensation in listed US firms has been added. The model includes variable definitions and theoretical justifications for why the explanatory variables are included in the model. Dissertation about managerial ownership and financial performance
The editor of Encycogov, H. Mathiesen has successfully defended his dissertation about managerial ownership and financial performance. He has therefore finished his education and research and obtained a Ph.D. degree in economics. The defense took place at Copenhagen Business School on September 13, 2002. Get dissertation.

Encycogov introduces videos as a new way to learn about corporate governance
Starting today Encycogov will be enhanced with numerous of video presentations about issues in corporate governance. An example is the new 'Introduction to Encycogov '. Note that video content require Internet Explorer 5 or higher and a computer that is not too slow (at least 400MHz is needed for smooth playback).

The 'big picture' section has been updated
The section under general topics called 'The big picture' has been updated. It mainly contains an interactive figure about the corporate governance problem and another about hypotheses in corporate governance.

New navigation tools for ENCYCOGOV
Encycogov should now be easier to navigate. Each webpage on Encycogov now contains three buttons (in the upper right corner) with links to Encycogov's search facility, the reference pages and a new sitemap for Encycogov.

The reference section has been updated and redesigned
The reference section has been updated by about 50 new references. However, it is more important that the section has also been redesigned to facilitate faster and more efficient search for references in corporate governance.

The new letter of the editor 2002 is available to read. It informs about the present state of Encycogov and looks ahead. Click to read.

ENCYCOGOV just got a new layout
A new layout for Encycogov has been implemented. The standard font has been changed to one that is easier to read on webpages and the left border has been redesigned to accommodate reading on PCs with low screen resolutions. Furthermore, three new borders has been added to make space for future expansions.

New copyright rules for use of the Contents of Encycogov
Many people have mailed Encycogov and asked for permission to use the Contents of Encycogov for educational purposes. To make it more clear how this is possible without any prior written permission the copyright rules have been updated.
